A photographic blog of photos I captured of birds, one afternoon, in my backyard. My treasured chooks are let out every afternoon about 4. They have been giving us up to a dozen eggs every day. Some days 13, and we have 13 chooks. I wonder if the galahs are offended at the use of […]
Flood 29th March, Dust 30th March, Ice 1st April, no April Fool joke Just before 7pm Thursday 28th March the Burke Bridge at Boulia started to go under, by flood water. We had known at Goodwood, for a few days, we were in for a good flood. We had received 87mm of rain over the […]
Marginal Country……that’s what we live in, meaning, in part, rain is marginal…… we live in a 8-9 inch (200-225mm) rainfall country, so we don’t ask for much. Each year at the Dawn Service this Anzac Poem is read out An Anzac Day Poem It’s just a simple service in a little place I know, when steady stars are paling and the sleepy earth wakes slow, with the greasy smell of morning in a little town at dawn, as with sleepy eyes and […]
I love my Outback home and I love the photography challenge of the light, in this wide open spaces and big sky country. Taking photos is my time out, feel good therapy, a passion I truly love. Picaninny daylight, like most sunsets or sunrises, they seem to look better with just a touch of clouds. […]
