Jake’s Australia Day Award
You know when you have a moment when you know that someone that has gone before us would have a huge smile on their face and bursting with pride?
Well that moment happened for me today when Jake Britton received his well deserved Young Citizen of the Year Award.
Jake’s Great Great Grandmother, affectionately known as Nana by all her clan, would have thought this very special. Her Great Great Grandchild receiving an Australia Day Award and her Great Grandson signing the Award as Mayor.
Jake shaking hands with Australia Day Ambassador Uncle Albert Holt while Rick proudly guides Jake in for congratulations.
Jake is the oldest of four boys.
Zack and Jake Britton, with faces painted by Mum, Beck, ready for Australia Day Awards to begin.
Next in line is Beau, who loves kangaroos and is watching buy diclofenac over the counter Kangaroo Jack while waiting for Australia Day Ceremony to start.
Last in line is Jase, sitting on Mum’s lap with Dad, Anthony, in background.
All awards that were presented today at Boulia’s Australia Day Ceremony were well deserved. I am extremely proud to be part of this community and the people that make it up and events that happen in the town.
Our beloved Uncle Ron, taken from us too soon, Jake’s Great Grandfather, would have been extremely proud as well.
I might be biased in this post, but feel if you can’t be proud of your family roots and their accomplishments on Australia Day as well as your pride in your community, well when can you be?

Fabulous news, great family and a deserving young man. Why shouldn’t you be proud and crowing from the roof tops.
-
Thanks Merry-Anne, no harm is showing some pride and love hey? Regardless of his last name it was well deserving but extra special cause he is family 🙂
-
GREAT STORY, THE WHOLE FAMILY MUST BE SO PROUD= THE YOUNG SHOWING THE WAY.

Yes we are thanks Keith, yes Jake is showing the way but I hope a few before him set some good examples as well 🙂

Wonderful photos Ann, Congratulations to the entire Britton family on Jake’s achievement this year. Fond memories of A great Australia Day in Boulia with Marayke. This year we were in Jandowe and Dalby. Familuies such as The Brittons are truly exemplary of great community spirit.

G’day Marion, Memories of your visit often happily come back to me. Kahnie is back with us and he speaks fondly of you both also.
Jandowe area is where both sides of my family come from. Dalby is where a family we have adopted as our own live, so both areas are very close to my heart.
Thanks for your kind words, Jake truly is a wonderful young man.
Hugs to yourself and Marayke -
Sounds like a very special day
